How To Make Your Day Better and Brighter

You know those days when things aren’t going your way? Maybe your late to school, to work, your coffee wasn’t good, or maybe the weather isn’t very pretty? Here are some ways to help you make your day brighter and better!

Retail therapy is always the best kind of therapy. Clothes, shoes, accessories always make a girl feel good and beautiful. Don’t feel guilty. If you’re having a bad day and you need a new look its okay to do a mini-splurge on yourself. If you can’t hit the mall or the boutiques, I like to online shop or online browse. Going to your favorite stores websites can be fun, I like to create wish lists or pull pictures from the stores and save them and create a “Wish List Look Book”.

What to do when you don’t feel like splurging or surfing the web? Pick flowers and create a beautiful arrangement. Creating beautiful things is a good feeling to have and beautiful things can make you smile. The best part about flower arrangements at home is everything is for free: the flowers, the water, if you already have a flower vase. Flowers also brighten up a room which can help brighten your day.
Treat yourself to a delicious treat. Lately I’ve been having so much fun in the kitchen baking decadent cupcakes. It doesn’t take too long to mix and stir your batter and baking them only takes 20 to 25 minutes. Before you know it you can make your day delicious with a happy treat. If you don’t want to feel guilty about your treat I like to look up vegan recipes on the internet, you’d be surprised how many yummy desserts you can make organic and vegan.

Beauty YOU days or evenings are also a good way to relax from stress and get away from a bad day. Go out and get your nails and toes done! However, I don’t enjoy going to the nail salon (only for special occasions). I enjoy doing my own nails; it makes time go by faster for me. Bubble baths or relaxing baths with your favorite bath salts are always a good way to unwind from a long rough day. After your calming bath give yourself a facial or do an olive oil hair mask. Beauty nights are always fun and relaxing and give you a happy feeling.

So turn your frown upside down. Sometimes on those bad days you just need to do something for yourself.

Good Luck

BEAUTY/HEALTH KICK 2013

Whose ready for the Spring season?? There's spring cleaning and new spring wardrobe! But what I am going to focus on most this Spring will be myself and my health. After all summer creeps up on us and I need to get my body into shape for a bikini (LOL). Using my Lauren Conrad Beauty book, which you can find either online or in most book stores, I have learned some tips on how to stay healthy and look healthy.

I've never realized how much vitamins could do for us and where we can get the vitamins. I'm going to share the vitamins I am taking and what foods you can find the vitamins in.

Vitamins
A- Carrots w/ hummus
evenly tones out your skin and healthy scalp

C- Tomatoes (mixed with balsamic vinegar and salt, super tasty)
removes scars, cuts, bruises, very good for skin

D- 15 minutes of sun without sunscreen (I'm going to start laying out when the weather gets warmer)

E- Fruit juices, Apple juice!
healthy skin

FLAVONOIDS- Citrus fruits, Green tea
improves skin and gives a glow

OMEGA-3 FATTY ACIDS- Tuna, Salmon
shiny hair

Here's a life of the two major things I am cutting out of my life an what I am replacing them with!
Sodas--> tea, sparking water (I still get that fizzy bubbly drink)
Chips--> Seaweed chips from Trader Joe's and Edamame

What I Need More Of
WATER WATER WATER!!!- 9 cups a day

Avocado- in my tummy and in my hair (to keep your hair damage free and healthy put avocado mixed with olive oil in your hair once a month. All you do is put it in damp hair and leave it in their for 30 minutes then wash your hair)

Exercise- I need to do more exercising so I am going to start doing more: jumping jacks, push ups, walking I CAN DO IT!! SO CAN YOU!

This is my plan for the new season! What's yours??? Comment below :)

LOS ANGELES

For all of you who keep up with instagram (@fashionempress) I've been insanely busy having a good time in LOS ANGELES and at the Grammys. I have always loved New York City and the east coast, but my heart was stolen by the west coast- LA, Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Pasadena etc. My mother and I got to travel across the US to support my talented uncle who was up for his second Grammy nomination for Best Historical Album. Unfortunately he lost, but I still had a wonderful experience exploring LA and getting to be at the Grammy awards ceremony. Of course I have pictures, and I tried to be on point with my looks and styles. So here you go!

This is the dress that I wore to the Grammys. The photo was taken on the red carpet, it was such a wonderful experience. My dress is a chiffon from J.Crew. I wore a pale but pretty wedge from Steve Madden. The clutch I am carrying is my mother's Hobo clutch. My nails and toes were both painted in Channel's Pirate red, my lips are also the Channels Pirate red (a very hot color right now).

My good friend and I hanging out in Old Pasadena. I liked the shopping (for a teenager) better in Pasadena than in Beverly Hills, even though the Saks Fifth Avenue in the Hills is to die for. But there are plenty of shops in old Pasadena that quenched my fashion thirst. The top I am wearing in this picture is a Yoko T-Shirt I bought from ZARA. The shoes are tall black boots are from the Steve Madden store.

Mom and I took a day to explore outside of Pasadena (which was where we were staying) and LA. We ventured out to Ojai, Ventura, and drove along the coast to Malibu. Here in this picture we made a stop on the Pacific Coast highway. It was very cold outside but we had to get a snapshot. I am wearing an emerald green dress from J.Crew, a gray cardigan with the sleeves pushed up, a pair of circle tortoise shell sunglasses from UO and navy knock off Keds from target. A comfortable but cute outfit for the day.

We took a trip over to Beverly Hills and Hollywood one day. We checked out the Wax museum, The Hollywood stars sidewalk and Rodeo Drive. This outfit is a little more hipster but very fun to wear, what I like about is I mixed a lot of colors but somehow still made since and came together. I am wearing a button up high low blouse, blue and white stripped from ZARA, high-wasted boyfriend shorts from J.Crew, dark chocolate brown tights, kind of a dark or wet sand colored socks and black ankle boots from Target. This outfit is fun to wear, especially when you are planning on looking cute but doing a lot of walking.

It was a wonderful trip and I will remember it forever.

What I Have Been Up To

THE NEW YEAR HAS BEEN CRAZY! I don't like neglecting the blog and I feel sorry for not posting more. But bare with me. Wouldn't you'd rather read a post that's well written and wants to be written?? I don't want to serve you people an untasteful dish. So here we go, this is what I have been doing lately.

I am the lovely beach with my mother, dog, god sister, and her new baby. So cute.

Here's me on the beach.
What I like about being on the beach alone is I have time to myself to think and clear out my mind. It is just so peaceful!

Here's a pic of my wonderful dog Ralph. (He's not a dalmatian!) But he sure is sweet and gentle!

I've also been ice skating lately! I love ice skating. I'm not the best, I did fall on my face the other night but I still like to skate around with my friends.

I've also been going to the mall a lot lately! The Perimeter Mall in Atlanta is way better than my local mall... I'm so glad I know how to drive on the big interstates now! My best friend Emily and I love to go to the mall and now we can go to the mall where we can find Urban Outfitters and J Crew, the must haves for us.

WHAT ARE YOUR MUST HAVE MALL SHOPS???

So I have ditched Pretty Little Liars and Gossip Girl is over... But I decide to catch up with The Lying Games on Netflix just in time for the premiere of season 2. And the Carrie Diaries is new on the CW tv and I LOVE IT SO MUCH. And then of course I am glad 90210 and Vampire Diaries are back!

Hope you enjoy reading my quick update
Posts will be arriving soon
