Shopaholic

If I haven't made it obvious enough yet, my favorite place to shop would be J. Crew. Shopping in general is a wonderful happy activity to do. J. Crew may be my favorite place, but I also have a few other places that I like to do my browsing. Bloomingdales and Saks (aka the Mother Ship) of course.

My favorite part of shopping is when I am shopping for something specific, like a dress. I spend most of my day shuffling down every isle of the store, touching every hanger, until finally I find the dress that was meant for me. It's in my size and I can't wait to try it on. In the dressing room, I slip into the dress... When its the perfect fit I have to do a little twirl in front of the mirror. I can't help but smile because I have found the dress for me.

Another scenario of shopping that I like is:
I'm online shopping and I found the best dress and it's in my size. Then I go to the store and find it in the right color and size. I hold my prize in my hand and take it back to the dressing room to try it on. But then all of the sudden... It doesn't fit or the dress just looks better on the hanger. So what do I have to do? SHUFFLE. And after shuffling, I find a dress that is just as good as the dress that I had found online. I try that dress on and it look way better than the previous dress. The dress is the perfect color and the perfect fit. So (my point is) sometimes you may find the perfect dress whether you are walking through a store and find a pretty dress on a pretty hanger or your online shopping, but it turns out it wasn't perfect. Don't give up!! Go out there and shuffle or scroll your mouse more! A mistake could always lead to the dress you were meant to be with all along. Struggling while shopping can be very annoying, but I love the feeling of after searching for that piece of clothing for so long and you finally find it. Its like finding hidden treasure.

And when you have made your purchase, I always enjoy carrying around my shopping bag, it makes me feel cool. Having the Saks or J.Crew bag hang from my arm, in my hand I have a coffee or a fancy water bottle, and on my shoulder my cutest purse, I like to pretend that I am a celebrity, ready for her close up for People Magazine (Lol). I like to make my shopping experience in my mind fun!

Whenever I buy a piece of clothing or shoe, the minute I get home I have to try it on. I have to make sure it still fits, so then I can take the tags off. And if it fits, the tags come off, and I put on whatever I bought and I will wear it for the rest of the day. Wearing new clothes is so much fun to me. Its a new look and its always fun to wear something that no one has seen on you.

Fashion Look: Emma Stone

Emma Stone
I fell in love with Emma Stone's comedic ways in the House Bunny, Easy A, The Help, and Spiderman. Recently, I have been researching Emma Stone, ever since I found out she and her co-star from Spiderman, Andrew Garfield are dating, not only did I find the couple adorable but also Emma Stone's simple fashion look. From the drop dead gorgeous red carpet looks to her simple casual look Emma Stone has got it going on.

Emma Stone
What I like about Emma Stone is her pale skin against a strong cherry red. Her complexion with the red is absolutely yummy.

In most tabloids that I have seen Emma in, she always seem put together in her style. From her hairstyle, to her bag, to her shoes Emma Stone (I think) kind of has a J. Crew flair to it. And if you know me personally, you'd know that I am a J. Crew maniac.
The Help T-Dress
I am going to jump back to the Help. I know that the Help is set in the 1960s, but some of the dresses Skeeter (Emma Stone), wears in the movie could actually be cute to wear today. One of my favorite dresses that Skeeter wears, I think she wears this type of dress a lot through out the movie, is the dress with the button up collar that is sleeveless. I would wear that today, also in the movie she has belted the shirt with a skinny belt which is another great look. It's kind of like the "t-shirt" dress but with a fuller skirt. Another dress Emma is an orangey-red dress. Again, a wonderful color on Emma.
The Help

Emma Stone is one of my favorite Ccelebrities. She is pretty, talented and kindhearted. And just look at her boyfriend, Andrew Garfield is absolutely yummy!

Fashion Look: The Starlet

I am so excited to be blogging about a very good friend of mine. Victoria and I have been friends ever since we were little. Victoria is an actress and its great to watch her grow as a very talented person. I have had a few chances to style Victoria.

Victoria Staley - TV One & BobbCat Films Premiere For Latest Sitcom "The Rickey Smiley Show"
Victoria
Recently, my mom and I got the chance to style Victoria for a premiere she attended for a friend. The attire for this event was what I would say a casual-dressy. Victoria picked out a nude, kind of a dark nude, and black up and down zig-zag striped, spaghetti strapped dress. Her dress was pretty much like a long dress that would go perfect with the beach. But Victoria and I took the beach look to a "night-out" dress. We decided to go with a pair of the Jessica Simpson nude heals. The dress was originally kiss the floor length, but with the heels the dress is raised to a flattering height were the heels peak out from the dress.

Because the dress was spaghetti straps we felt the need to kind of cover up the skin Victoria was showing, since the evening was a professional occasion. First we decided on a gray long in the front, short in the back cardigan. Unfortunately we couldn't find the perfect cardigan. We decided to go with a skinny, long, shimmery silver-gray scarf with it looped once around her neck. The part of the scarf that hung on her back was long, while the front part was a little bit shorter than the back. For accessories we put skinny silver bangles that are connected into one bracelet first and then in front of the bangle bracelet we put a big silver bracelet. Because Victoria already had a necklace and her hair is a gorgeous accessory she already has, we didn't add any dramatic necklaces or earrings because she decided to wear her hair down.

Victoria looked stunning for her event. I think the look overall is a fun evening casual look. Also a good example of a dress transition from summer to fall. The summer is represented by the maxi dress and the winter is expressed by the scarf.

Check out Victoria on NBC's Revolution coming soon!

Dissecting the Hipster Style

Is hipster the new prep? Remember when prep was the mainstream look? It's still pretty mainstream, but for people, especially my age (16), hipster is the style to go. Now I don't live the "hipster lifestyle" but I kind of live the hipster style. Even the style is mainstream I still think its a unique style apart from other styles... Maybe not Lady Gaga's style. Anyways I like to divide the teen fashion into three parts.

Gillian Zinser
Miley Cyrus
First you have the "Hardcore Hipsters". I am     talking everyday: the hipster style glasses (a lot of  people wear the un-prescribed pair), Combat boots, skinny jeans.. I could go on. I usually think emo meets hippy style. On the left we have Miley Cyrus, who I consider a "hardcore". On the right is an actress Gillian Zinser, she is 90210's Ivy Sullivan. She is definitely a "hardcore hipster". But both girls can rock that hardcore look.

Zooey Deschanel
                                                        Second- "The Prep-Ster":
I would consider myself a prep-ster. I still wear whatever I consider preppy but mix it up with a hipster twist. Every now and then I'll do hardcore hipster, but when I absolutely need to I can switch over to my prep side. I see J.Crew as a perfect combination of prep and hipster.
I picked Zooey Deschanel, Jess from New Girl, because I think she has the balance of hipster and the girly prep side. If you haven't checked out New Girl, you should. On the show you get to see all of the cute fun things Jess wears. And I would compare her style to Taylor Swift's.

Leighton Meester
Last- The Prep
To me, I think the prep look can be dissected as well. There are so many different ways to go prep. But my favorite prep look would be the Blair Waldorf Gossip Girl Prep Look.
Leighton Meester, whenever she plays as Blair Waldorf on Gossip Girl, I always think that she is a prep but a prep with a unique style. Then again, who ever styles GG gets to work with the "A-List" designers to make the looks every Gossip Girl character unique. Blair has pieces that make her hat I admire would be the Gossip Girl Blair Prep Look. Blair is always wearing her cute bow headband and is constantly seen wearing her colored stockings, which complete the signature Blair Look.

So that's my dissection of the teen wearing fashion.

What's your look? I'd love to know.

Fashion Look: Kelly Rippa

I, personally, admire Kelly Rippa's style because Kelly and I both have an athletic body but we are still a beautiful size of petit. Every morning at 9 o'clock I tune in to channel 2 to watch Live with Kelly.. And now Micheal. Even in tabloids I see Kelly wearing heels, because she's short. I wish I could be as womanly as Kelly to wear heels all the time. Even though Kelly is a mom, her style doesn't say "soccer mom". To me, Kelly's style is an independent woman who likes to have fun and enjoys what she does- being a mom or a morning talk show host.

Kelly Ripa
I really like this photo of Kelly. It's casual with the jeans but still nice with her black blazer on top. Also I like the color scheme with the yellow, the black, and her light purple-gray scarf. And of course Kelly is struttin' it in her wedges.

Live w/ Kelly and Micheal
Here is Kelly with her newest co-host, Micheal. I really like what she is wearing because it has balance. The floral type pattern on her dress is balanced out with her black triangle toed heels. And what I really like about the balance of her look is she has her scoop neck and spaghetti straps at the top of her dress, however it compromises with the length of her dress. Which hits her at a great spot, just half way along the knee. With the print being bold and the hem being at medium length she doesn't look "trashy". I personally think that if her dress had been too short, I would be thinking "Hoochy Mama". I don't like tiny straps with short skirt lengths. But Kelly Ripa is no Hoochy Mama, which is why her dress looks appropriate and cheerful!

I just love Kelly Ripa, I look at her as a bright woman who entertains me in the morning. And of course, her clothes I find just as entertaining as she.

Fashion Look: Taylor Swift

Selena Gomez
Demi Lovato
Now I know I am over a month late on the Teen Choice Awards. But I finally got the chance to watch them the other night. And while I was watching I saw all kinds of different fashion looks from Demi Lovato's feathery dress to Selena Gomez's fun, youthful and very pink dress.

The celebrity who's dress really caught my eye would be Taylor Swift's white dress. It's flirty, flowy and perfect for Taylor. What I love about her dress is the skirt and the thick see through straps. Taylor went for a natural look with her make up and her shoes are a nude color.

Taylor Swift

From one of Taylor's first songs "Our Song" to her latest single "We Are Never Ever Ever Getting Back Together," Taylor has transformed. From the Nashville girl who loved her cowgirl boots (no fashion racism towards cowgirl boots I love them) to an elegant more grown up look.
We Are Never Getting Back Together

I adore Taylor's bangs, yes she was part of my inspiration to get bangs. And her red lipstick that she tends to wear a lot is another favorite look. It's fun to have a pop of color on your lips and red definitely is fun and bold for your lips.  I look to Taylor as a fashion icon to help me think of hairstyles or what to wear when I am going to hang out with friends or out on a coffee date.
To see more of the adorable looks of Taylor check out her new music video by clicking on the link

I hope you liked today's Fashion Look!

Love for Valentino

Over the weekend, my mom and I took a trip to Lenox and Phipps. Phipps, being the home to the mother ship SAKS FIFTH AVENUE, mom and I spotted the new Valentino. Let me tell you, I was speechless! If you watch or are familiar with the CW's tv show, Gossip Girl then you would know who Blair Waldorf (played by Leighton Meester) is. The new Valentino that was being modeled on a mannequin is so Blair Waldorf.  The look I see in Valentino's new clothes would be elegant with lace and a little edgy and fun with the leather.  It will be fun to see if in the upcoming season of Gossip Girl (season finale) Leighton Meester will be wearing any of Valentino's clothes.

WWAD?

All of you must know my lovely friend, Audrey Hepburn. I fell in love with Audrey the minute I was exposed to Breakfast at Tiffany's.  I look at Audrey as an all time classic look.

You're probably wondering what does WWAD? stand for. What Would Audrey Do? Whenever I'm not sure about fashion and new looks, I stop and think WWAD?

Audrey Hepburn
Me being a sixteen year old, just two years away from being 18, I've already thought of getting a tattoo the moment I become an adult. Stop. Think of this situation. Hypothesis: If I get this painful, permanent tattoo onto my skin, then my husband 40 years from now is going to adore it. Now, state the question. What Would Audrey Do? Audrey Hepburn, didn't have tattoo. So in conclusion, what is my final statement? No, I would not like a tattoo. I practically just performed the scientific method of fashion.

I am not being fashionably racists towards tattoos though. Their just not my thing. I look at tattoos as art on other people. The Mona Lisa is pretty but I don't want to wear it. And not all tattoos are a discrimination to fashion. There's a lot of people who can rock the tattoo look. Kat Von D from LA Ink can wear her tattoos.

Leslie Caron
Another old movie star who I look up to would be Leslie Caron from another all time favorite movie of mine, Gigi. I wouldn't wear the old Parisian look today. But the way Gigi transforms from a child to a woman is why I love the movie so much. From the dresses, to Gaston Lachaille, and the lessons with her aunt, Gigi blossoms. Gigi is a strong character for women, I think. The way she stands up for herself to Gaston's asking her to be his mistress is admirable. I am also a sucker for musicals too. My favorite song from the movie would be when Gaston sings Gigi.

I have always considered Breakfast at Tiffany's and Gigi as great examples of classic fashion, manners, and all things girl.

If you have seen Gigi what's your favorite song? Or what's your favorite musical, song, band, singer etc? Comment below! Music is another obsession of mine right next to fashion.

Match Made in Heaven

If you read my Falling Forward post then you must have seen the picture of the Peter Pan Collar Tee from J.Crew. The Peter Pan Collar type shirt was on my check list. Anyways, I got it!! Thanks to the wonderful Natalie! She told me that this shirt was out at the J.Crew closest to me and won't be back until the end of November. So I would call me and this shirt a match made in heaven. It fits perfectly and feels wonderful! And it goes with my new straight across bangs.

I can't wait to wear this shirt like crazy! It's fun to have a piece of clothing that you absolutely love. If my house caught on fire and I had to grab three things this shirt would be one of them.

Here is a preview of my shirt. I am in love with this shirt (if you couldn't tell..)

When it gets warmer, I'll be posting more pictures of this shirt along with many other fall outfits.

My favorite fall fashion, besides the shirt (lol) would be the wedge boots for sure, I am so excited to wear them all fall and even into the winter.

Comment below and tell me your favorite fall fashions, I'd love to read them!!
