Dear Fashion Lovers

Dear Fashion Lovers,
I have failed you. I was unable to post my “Mistletoe/ Midnight Kiss” post because…. (here goes my excuse) I was sick, busy with work, getting ready for the holidays, and trying to finish up midterms.
One of my New Year’s resolutions is to devote more time and put more work and ideas into the Fashion Empress. Don’t be surprised if one day the blog is one format and the next a different format. Between now and New Years I am still trying to settle on a blog format for Fashion Empress, I am limited but I believe I can clean up the blog and make it look better.
I am still considering going to YouTube but I need to make a few videos, edit and figure out if Fashion Empress is ready to take on a new level of social media. However, on January 3, 2013 you can find the Fashion Empress on Instagram, I will post my username and a link once I have everything set up. I was considering a Twitter, but for now an Instagram is a good alternative way for me to communicate to you.
I hope everyone had a safe and happy holiday, I did for sure.

Inspiration + Update

I have been inspired by the star of the MTV show "The Hills" Lauren Conrad. I began watching re-runs of The Hills about a month ago. Lauren Conrad influenced me. I found her on Instagram, I saw her pins on Pinterest, and I check her website laurenconrad.com. On her website she blogs not only about fashion, but everything girly. From makeup to hairstyles, health, food, advice "ask Lauren", decorating, reading and a bunch of other things. So, I have decided to start blogging about things very similar.

What Can You Expect on the new and improved Fashion Empress??
More FASHION, Pinterest posts, beauty (now that I wear makeup), tips on eating right, fantastic dinning, and whatever else comes to mind. LC does blog about fitness, which I lack, but I have decided to post whatever she posts on her fitness blog and share the link, but I won't post a lot of fitness. We will see....
If you have any ideas on what you would like me to post about comment below!

Soon to be blogged:
The Christmas/ New Years party outfit... The post title will be "Mistletoe Midnight Kiss" though. I am planning on including makeup as well as hair with pictures!

For now, I am postponing Fashion Empress going to YouTube, I started working on a video, but I didn't like the outcome. Maybe in the New Year my resolution will be to make a good video for you guys!

Fashion Thanksgiving

Sorry to all that I have not been posting lately. Life gets busy and I can never find the time to write a good blog post.

But no worries, I am back with a lot of fashion to dish. Get your forks and knives ladies, here is my fashion thanksgiving.

I am going to reveal to all of you what my TOP secret SHOP is. TOP SHOP is my newest fashion obsession. It's a shop within Nordstroms. It cheap, cute, and fun for those of you who enjoy the hipster fashion. So the first thing I am thankful for this year is the discovery of the TOP SHOP.

Cashmere in the fall and winter, I am very thankful for. I love my cashmere button up and pullover sweaters. I have a very bold purple colored cashmere sweater and it's absolutely delicious. I enjoy having a bright pop of color during the holidays.

I went to Super Target awhile back and found two wonderful pairs of boots. One pair is a brown combat boot and the other is a short black boot with a heel and the zipper is silver. I love the black boots so much. I call them my motorcycle boots because the boots look so good with my motorcycle jacket from Super Target. With my black pencil Sevens and my white James Perse v-neck tee, I have the perfect motorcycle riding outfit. I am thankful for the motorcycle shoes and jacket.

What are you thankful for this Thanksgiving? What's on your Christmas fashion list? 2013 is coming soon! Look for my Christmas/ New Years Eve Party outfit blog!!

TOP Secret and TSwift 2.0

Is it wrong for the Fashion Empress to covet an amazing shop that has great clothes as well as great prices?? My mother and I were browsing along a certain stores website and came across a SHOP that has the TOP fashions for reasonable prices. Can you guess what it is?? I'll be dropping hints. But I did make wonderful purchases from this SHOP. I bought a delicious high wasted golden skirt with a dark simple print on it. And a divine crop top that is long sleeve black lace with an attached black bandeau underneath. With this outfit I have paired gray stockings and a cute clunky heel from Bp. I am so excited to wear this outfit to a wedding. My mother insists that I wear a top knot with this outfit, I am not going to lie but it is a cute idea. But I have medium-long hair and since I am wearing a high wasted skirt I want to wear my hair down to make it appear longer. Sorry mom!

TSwift Begin Again
Anyways... Have you checked out the new Taylor Swift music video Begin Again? I know this is the second time I have discussed Taylor's beautiful taste in clothing, but in this music video Taylor looks stunning. My wise mother has been telling me that Taylor Swift and Kate Middleton are bringing back femininity to fashion. In Taylor's new music video she is wearing the long skirts and beautiful blouses. Also the other dress Taylor wears is an elegant, simple, soft lavender dress that is to die for. Check it out to see more of Taylor's tasteful looks!

Coming soon I will be revealing the TOP Secret SHOP, as well as posting some pictures of my friends and I and our fashion when we go to a nice party. In this case a wedding.

Fall Haul

Sorry I've been MIA ladies, but I've been terribly busy. Anyways I am back now. It's officially fall. The weather is cooler and the leaves have changed. Just a week ago, I went crazy shopping on a budget. I had fun and bought the essentials I need for the fall and into the winter.

Kohl's

I am not one to shop at Kohl's on the daily, but I will have to say I was impressed. There are three designers in Kohl's who I liked, Rock and Republic, Elle, and Lauren Conrad. Now I didn't go crazy and buy my entire fall wardrobe at Kohl's. But I found the high wasted pant's I've been on the hunt for. I tried on three pairs of high wasted pants in shades of red. The Rock and Republics had a nice fit, but I didn't like the material. The Lauren Conrad corduroy pants were cute but the brightness of the red was a little too intense for me. So finally the Elle maroon colored pants. They were perfect. They hit me at a good spot and maroon was the right shade to go with for the fall.

                                                   Target/Super Target
Women's Mossimo® Vianca Tuxedo Flat - Assorted ColorsI like the Target that's only 5 minutes away from my house, but going to the Super Target is better. There are more options and more chances that your size and what you want will be there. But at my Target in town I purchased: a pair of cheetah flats and a gray beanie. At the Super Target I got: a wonderful worth buying jacket, I call it my motorcycle jacket because it has a bunch of zippers and buttons. I also bought a black shirt that zips up in the back and has a little slit opening where the zipper ends about 3/4's down the back. Around the bottom of shirt, near the belly button on me, there is a black skirt trim. I have seen at some stores, like Urban Outfitters, this type of shirt is there but I got this wonderful shirt from Super Target for only $20. It's an adorable shirt. The last thing I bought from Super target is a blouse. It's a flesh nude with polka dots around it. I am not big on patterns that much, but I enjoyed the pattern with the look of the shirt and I think its a cute and flirty blouse to wear.

Local Shopping
Usually I don't like to shop at the local boutiques or clothing stores in town because they don't have what I like or the cost is too much. But at a store in my town, that is originally for people who like the outdoors, I found a plaid button up flannel.

That is the end of my fall haul and I hope you all enjoyed it. I will be posting more soon!

Fall Favorites

It's officially October, my favorite month right next to December! The fall season is officially here and the southern leaves have changed their colors. So it's time to change colors in the closet. Goodbye bright colors, hello warm colors. I can't wait to carve pumpkins for Halloween and see little kids dress up! When the weather get's colder I can't wait to wear over-sized sweaters and boots. I have a new list that I'd love to share. The items on this list are my favorite clothes, accessories or make up.

Fall Favorites Check List:
  • Fake eye lashes- Gluing on fake eye lashes has always been a hard task for me. But recently I was able to get them to stick on. For me, because I am Asian, seeing my eye lashes or coating them in mascara is hard. With fake eye lashes, they make my eyes bigger and my lashes lushes. The fake eye lash kit I use is called water proof Lash Grip. It works great. If you want to get a fuller eye look for a night out, I recommend Lash Grip. After you apply your Lash Grip lashes, generously coat your real lashes and fake lashes with mascara.
  • Colored high wasted jeans- If you read one of my posts from awhile ago. you would know that I love high wasted pants. I finally snagged a good pair from... Khols! Now I am not one to constantly shop at Khols, but if your on a budget or not in the mood to spend $70 on a pair of high wasted jeans go to Khols. Look for either Rock and Republic, Elle, or Lauren Conrad collection of high wasted pants. I decided on a pair of Elle dark, red, high wasted, straight jeans. I love them! They are super comfortable.
  • Target flats- Target has a decent collection of flat shoes. I have seen the same shoes at Urban Outfitters, but the ones at Target are 30$ or less than the shoes at UO. The two pairs of shoes I got are a turquoise pair with a burnt brown outline and burnt brown tassels, and the other pair is a cheetah flat, which I wear with my high wasted jeans.
  • The Brad Pitt Beanie- Beanies are super fun and are perfect for a bad hair day. You can either throw your hair up into the hat or place the beanie upon your head. To me, it is a little hipstery, but is a great accessory for when you are running out the door and you aren't loving your hair.
So there is my check list... for now. Do you have a check list? Comment below and tell me your favorite fall must haves and favorites.

Also comment below and tell me what you want me to write about next... a celebrity style? Hair care? Or if commenting is too difficult, email me at thefashionempress34@gmail.com and tell me what you want to see on the Fashion Empress.

Shopaholic

If I haven't made it obvious enough yet, my favorite place to shop would be J. Crew. Shopping in general is a wonderful happy activity to do. J. Crew may be my favorite place, but I also have a few other places that I like to do my browsing. Bloomingdales and Saks (aka the Mother Ship) of course.

My favorite part of shopping is when I am shopping for something specific, like a dress. I spend most of my day shuffling down every isle of the store, touching every hanger, until finally I find the dress that was meant for me. It's in my size and I can't wait to try it on. In the dressing room, I slip into the dress... When its the perfect fit I have to do a little twirl in front of the mirror. I can't help but smile because I have found the dress for me.

Another scenario of shopping that I like is:
I'm online shopping and I found the best dress and it's in my size. Then I go to the store and find it in the right color and size. I hold my prize in my hand and take it back to the dressing room to try it on. But then all of the sudden... It doesn't fit or the dress just looks better on the hanger. So what do I have to do? SHUFFLE. And after shuffling, I find a dress that is just as good as the dress that I had found online. I try that dress on and it look way better than the previous dress. The dress is the perfect color and the perfect fit. So (my point is) sometimes you may find the perfect dress whether you are walking through a store and find a pretty dress on a pretty hanger or your online shopping, but it turns out it wasn't perfect. Don't give up!! Go out there and shuffle or scroll your mouse more! A mistake could always lead to the dress you were meant to be with all along. Struggling while shopping can be very annoying, but I love the feeling of after searching for that piece of clothing for so long and you finally find it. Its like finding hidden treasure.

And when you have made your purchase, I always enjoy carrying around my shopping bag, it makes me feel cool. Having the Saks or J.Crew bag hang from my arm, in my hand I have a coffee or a fancy water bottle, and on my shoulder my cutest purse, I like to pretend that I am a celebrity, ready for her close up for People Magazine (Lol). I like to make my shopping experience in my mind fun!

Whenever I buy a piece of clothing or shoe, the minute I get home I have to try it on. I have to make sure it still fits, so then I can take the tags off. And if it fits, the tags come off, and I put on whatever I bought and I will wear it for the rest of the day. Wearing new clothes is so much fun to me. Its a new look and its always fun to wear something that no one has seen on you.

So what's your favorite store to shop at?? Comment as anonymous by clicking on comments below! (I know it's really  hard to comment on this blog, so sorry)

If the Fashion Empress makes it to 500 page views I'll be going to YouTube. Vlogging about fashion and making fun girly videos!! If you can check out Stilababe09 on YouTube, she is my inspiration. My videos I am planning on making will be like her's. But don't worry I will keep blogging!

Thank you all you Fashionistas who have been reading and sharing this blog with your friends! It means so much to me.

Fashion Look: Emma Stone

Emma Stone
I fell in love with Emma Stone's comedic ways in the House Bunny, Easy A, The Help, and Spiderman. Recently, I have been researching Emma Stone, ever since I found out she and her co-star from Spiderman, Andrew Garfield are dating, not only did I find the couple adorable but also Emma Stone's simple fashion look. From the drop dead gorgeous red carpet looks to her simple casual look Emma Stone has got it going on.

Emma Stone
What I like about Emma Stone is her pale skin against a strong cherry red. Her complexion with the red is absolutely yummy.

In most tabloids that I have seen Emma in, she always seem put together in her style. From her hairstyle, to her bag, to her shoes Emma Stone (I think) kind of has a J. Crew flair to it. And if you know me personally, you'd know that I am a J. Crew maniac.
The Help T-Dress
I am going to jump back to the Help. I know that the Help is set in the 1960s, but some of the dresses Skeeter (Emma Stone), wears in the movie could actually be cute to wear today. One of my favorite dresses that Skeeter wears, I think she wears this type of dress a lot through out the movie, is the dress with the button up collar that is sleeveless. I would wear that today, also in the movie she has belted the shirt with a skinny belt which is another great look. It's kind of like the "t-shirt" dress but with a fuller skirt. Another dress Emma is an orangey-red dress. Again, a wonderful color on Emma.
The Help

Emma Stone is one of my favorite Ccelebrities. She is pretty, talented and kindhearted. And just look at her boyfriend, Andrew Garfield is absolutely yummy!

Fashion Look: The Starlet

I am so excited to be blogging about a very good friend of mine. Victoria and I have been friends ever since we were little. Victoria is an actress and its great to watch her grow as a very talented person. I have had a few chances to style Victoria.

Victoria Staley - TV One & BobbCat Films Premiere For Latest Sitcom "The Rickey Smiley Show"
Victoria
Recently, my mom and I got the chance to style Victoria for a premiere she attended for a friend. The attire for this event was what I would say a casual-dressy. Victoria picked out a nude, kind of a dark nude, and black up and down zig-zag striped, spaghetti strapped dress. Her dress was pretty much like a long dress that would go perfect with the beach. But Victoria and I took the beach look to a "night-out" dress. We decided to go with a pair of the Jessica Simpson nude heals. The dress was originally kiss the floor length, but with the heels the dress is raised to a flattering height were the heels peak out from the dress.

Because the dress was spaghetti straps we felt the need to kind of cover up the skin Victoria was showing, since the evening was a professional occasion. First we decided on a gray long in the front, short in the back cardigan. Unfortunately we couldn't find the perfect cardigan. We decided to go with a skinny, long, shimmery silver-gray scarf with it looped once around her neck. The part of the scarf that hung on her back was long, while the front part was a little bit shorter than the back. For accessories we put skinny silver bangles that are connected into one bracelet first and then in front of the bangle bracelet we put a big silver bracelet. Because Victoria already had a necklace and her hair is a gorgeous accessory she already has, we didn't add any dramatic necklaces or earrings because she decided to wear her hair down.

Victoria looked stunning for her event. I think the look overall is a fun evening casual look. Also a good example of a dress transition from summer to fall. The summer is represented by the maxi dress and the winter is expressed by the scarf.

Check out Victoria on NBC's Revolution coming soon!

Dissecting the Hipster Style

Is hipster the new prep? Remember when prep was the mainstream look? It's still pretty mainstream, but for people, especially my age (16), hipster is the style to go. Now I don't live the "hipster lifestyle" but I kind of live the hipster style. Even the style is mainstream I still think its a unique style apart from other styles... Maybe not Lady Gaga's style. Anyways I like to divide the teen fashion into three parts.

Gillian Zinser
Miley Cyrus
First you have the "Hardcore Hipsters". I am     talking everyday: the hipster style glasses (a lot of  people wear the un-prescribed pair), Combat boots, skinny jeans.. I could go on. I usually think emo meets hippy style. On the left we have Miley Cyrus, who I consider a "hardcore". On the right is an actress Gillian Zinser, she is 90210's Ivy Sullivan. She is definitely a "hardcore hipster". But both girls can rock that hardcore look.

Zooey Deschanel
                                                        Second- "The Prep-Ster":
I would consider myself a prep-ster. I still wear whatever I consider preppy but mix it up with a hipster twist. Every now and then I'll do hardcore hipster, but when I absolutely need to I can switch over to my prep side. I see J.Crew as a perfect combination of prep and hipster.
I picked Zooey Deschanel, Jess from New Girl, because I think she has the balance of hipster and the girly prep side. If you haven't checked out New Girl, you should. On the show you get to see all of the cute fun things Jess wears. And I would compare her style to Taylor Swift's.

Leighton Meester
Last- The Prep
To me, I think the prep look can be dissected as well. There are so many different ways to go prep. But my favorite prep look would be the Blair Waldorf Gossip Girl Prep Look.
Leighton Meester, whenever she plays as Blair Waldorf on Gossip Girl, I always think that she is a prep but a prep with a unique style. Then again, who ever styles GG gets to work with the "A-List" designers to make the looks every Gossip Girl character unique. Blair has pieces that make her hat I admire would be the Gossip Girl Blair Prep Look. Blair is always wearing her cute bow headband and is constantly seen wearing her colored stockings, which complete the signature Blair Look.

So that's my dissection of the teen wearing fashion.

What's your look? I'd love to know.

Fashion Look: Kelly Rippa

I, personally, admire Kelly Rippa's style because Kelly and I both have an athletic body but we are still a beautiful size of petit. Every morning at 9 o'clock I tune in to channel 2 to watch Live with Kelly.. And now Micheal. Even in tabloids I see Kelly wearing heels, because she's short. I wish I could be as womanly as Kelly to wear heels all the time. Even though Kelly is a mom, her style doesn't say "soccer mom". To me, Kelly's style is an independent woman who likes to have fun and enjoys what she does- being a mom or a morning talk show host.

Kelly Ripa
I really like this photo of Kelly. It's casual with the jeans but still nice with her black blazer on top. Also I like the color scheme with the yellow, the black, and her light purple-gray scarf. And of course Kelly is struttin' it in her wedges.

Live w/ Kelly and Micheal
Here is Kelly with her newest co-host, Micheal. I really like what she is wearing because it has balance. The floral type pattern on her dress is balanced out with her black triangle toed heels. And what I really like about the balance of her look is she has her scoop neck and spaghetti straps at the top of her dress, however it compromises with the length of her dress. Which hits her at a great spot, just half way along the knee. With the print being bold and the hem being at medium length she doesn't look "trashy". I personally think that if her dress had been too short, I would be thinking "Hoochy Mama". I don't like tiny straps with short skirt lengths. But Kelly Ripa is no Hoochy Mama, which is why her dress looks appropriate and cheerful!

I just love Kelly Ripa, I look at her as a bright woman who entertains me in the morning. And of course, her clothes I find just as entertaining as she.

Fashion Look: Taylor Swift

Selena Gomez
Demi Lovato
Now I know I am over a month late on the Teen Choice Awards. But I finally got the chance to watch them the other night. And while I was watching I saw all kinds of different fashion looks from Demi Lovato's feathery dress to Selena Gomez's fun, youthful and very pink dress.

The celebrity who's dress really caught my eye would be Taylor Swift's white dress. It's flirty, flowy and perfect for Taylor. What I love about her dress is the skirt and the thick see through straps. Taylor went for a natural look with her make up and her shoes are a nude color.

Taylor Swift

From one of Taylor's first songs "Our Song" to her latest single "We Are Never Ever Ever Getting Back Together," Taylor has transformed. From the Nashville girl who loved her cowgirl boots (no fashion racism towards cowgirl boots I love them) to an elegant more grown up look.
We Are Never Getting Back Together

I adore Taylor's bangs, yes she was part of my inspiration to get bangs. And her red lipstick that she tends to wear a lot is another favorite look. It's fun to have a pop of color on your lips and red definitely is fun and bold for your lips.  I look to Taylor as a fashion icon to help me think of hairstyles or what to wear when I am going to hang out with friends or out on a coffee date.
To see more of the adorable looks of Taylor check out her new music video by clicking on the link
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WA4iX5D9Z64. Its a cute song and a cute music video!

I hope you liked today's Fashion Look!

Love for Valentino

Over the weekend, my mom and I took a trip to Lenox and Phipps. Phipps, being the home to the mother ship SAKS FIFTH AVENUE, mom and I spotted the new Valentino. Let me tell you, I was speechless! If you watch or are familiar with the CW's tv show, Gossip Girl then you would know who Blair Waldorf (played by Leighton Meester) is. The new Valentino that was being modeled on a mannequin is so Blair Waldorf.  The look I see in Valentino's new clothes would be elegant with lace and a little edgy and fun with the leather.  It will be fun to see if in the upcoming season of Gossip Girl (season finale) Leighton Meester will be wearing any of Valentino's clothes.

Let me know in the comment box who your favorite designer is! Also, I'm going to start doing posts about what my favorite look or celebrity look of the day or week (I haven't decided) is. Or in the comment box if you have a favorite celebrity who you would like to read about on the Fashion Empress let me know and I'll post about them. I would love to read what you have to say!

WWAD?

All of you must know my lovely friend, Audrey Hepburn. I fell in love with Audrey the minute I was exposed to Breakfast at Tiffany's.  I look at Audrey as an all time classic look.

You're probably wondering what does WWAD? stand for. What Would Audrey Do? Whenever I'm not sure about fashion and new looks, I stop and think WWAD?

Audrey Hepburn
Me being a sixteen year old, just two years away from being 18, I've already thought of getting a tattoo the moment I become an adult. Stop. Think of this situation. Hypothesis: If I get this painful, permanent tattoo onto my skin, then my husband 40 years from now is going to adore it. Now, state the question. What Would Audrey Do? Audrey Hepburn, didn't have tattoo. So in conclusion, what is my final statement? No, I would not like a tattoo. I practically just performed the scientific method of fashion.

I am not being fashionably racists towards tattoos though. Their just not my thing. I look at tattoos as art on other people. The Mona Lisa is pretty but I don't want to wear it. And not all tattoos are a discrimination to fashion. There's a lot of people who can rock the tattoo look. Kat Von D from LA Ink can wear her tattoos.

Leslie Caron
Another old movie star who I look up to would be Leslie Caron from another all time favorite movie of mine, Gigi. I wouldn't wear the old Parisian look today. But the way Gigi transforms from a child to a woman is why I love the movie so much. From the dresses, to Gaston Lachaille, and the lessons with her aunt, Gigi blossoms. Gigi is a strong character for women, I think. The way she stands up for herself to Gaston's asking her to be his mistress is admirable. I am also a sucker for musicals too. My favorite song from the movie would be when Gaston sings Gigi.

I have always considered Breakfast at Tiffany's and Gigi as great examples of classic fashion, manners, and all things girl.

If you have seen Gigi what's your favorite song? Or what's your favorite musical, song, band, singer etc? Comment below! Music is another obsession of mine right next to fashion.

Match Made in Heaven

If you read my Falling Forward post then you must have seen the picture of the Peter Pan Collar Tee from J.Crew. The Peter Pan Collar type shirt was on my check list. Anyways, I got it!! Thanks to the wonderful Natalie! She told me that this shirt was out at the J.Crew closest to me and won't be back until the end of November. So I would call me and this shirt a match made in heaven. It fits perfectly and feels wonderful! And it goes with my new straight across bangs.

I can't wait to wear this shirt like crazy! It's fun to have a piece of clothing that you absolutely love. If my house caught on fire and I had to grab three things this shirt would be one of them.

Here is a preview of my shirt. I am in love with this shirt (if you couldn't tell..)

When it gets warmer, I'll be posting more pictures of this shirt along with many other fall outfits.

My favorite fall fashion, besides the shirt (lol) would be the wedge boots for sure, I am so excited to wear them all fall and even into the winter.

Comment below and tell me your favorite fall fashions, I'd love to read them!!

The Fashion Empress's Dilemma

If I don't plan the perfect outfit it could take hours until I know what I want to wear. This afternoon I've spent an hour and a half trying to figure out what I want to wear to a high school football game. You're probably thinking... seriously, a football game? So here's my dilemma, I am going to my old school's (because now I am doing an online private school) football game and I have all these outfits and I can't decide what I want to wear. I don't want to arrive in my old spirit wear, the Fashion Empress rarely wears a t-shirt out in public.

I knew exactly what pants I want to wear, black seven pencils rolled up to my ankle and my silver J.Crew sandals.
Here were my choices of tops:
-A white James Perse v-neck
-A hand me down baby blue flowey racer back tank from my cousin
-A magenta v-neck from Victoria Secret Pink
-And a high low tangerine button up tank from H&M

I finally found a winner after trying all 4 choices on over and over. I decided to go with the magenta v-neck from VS Pink. My old school's team colors are gold and purple, so at least I will almost blend in with the magenta. I'm not going to put any jewelry with this outfit or do anything special with my hair. To finish the look off I am going to be carrying my Micheal Kors nude cross body purse.

For things like a football game I like to be super comfortable and stylish at the same time. Being comfortable in what you wear is one of the main keys. I hate wearing things that look cute but you can barely breath, or it's itchy, or you can't move around and sit. And with tonight I will be moving around and sitting and standing the whole time.

One last thing about deciding on what to wear. Confidence. Wear something that gives you confidence. Because when you wear your outfit with confidence, the outfit will look ten times better on you.

It takes time to find the right thing to wear, I know I take my time. And I always think that in a great outfit there must be comfort and confidence!

Falling Forward

Summer fashion was good this year. But I'm ready to beat the heat and dive into the fall season.

Let's start FALLING FORWARD.

I am so excited for fall fashion this year. It’s almost time to break out the boots, the sweaters, stockings and scarves. I have a fall fashion check list that I’d like to share.
Here we go!
-Booties: Wedge boots that cut off at the ankle
-Flats: I really like the triangle pointy toed flats
-Fall fun colored/pattern pants
-Peter Pan Collar

J.Crew

Now I must elaborate on my bootie obsession. I’ve been seeing the wedged ankle boots with cute socks scrunched up to the top of the boot. Back to the high waisted jean shorts, if you do love to wear high waisted jean shorts wedge booties and socks all together is super cute! When it gets colder and you still like the booties and socks don’t be afraid to throw on your cutest pencil pants and have your socks peek out between the booties and pants. But if you don’t prefer the booties sock look, my alternative is pants almost high water pants with cute flats which can be just as cute.

Burgundy is a color that I love for fall. The fun pinkish, redish, orangey pants made their debut all through spring break to the end of summer. Let's put away the bright pastel colors and bring in warm fall colors. Fall colored jeans, pants, and corduroys are what I am looking for this fall. Pattern pants are also a great, they can spice up your outfits.

Last on my check list would be the Peter Pan Collar. I find the Peter Pan Collar adorable. Its a very feminine look. There are all kinds of styles of Peter Pan Collars. They can be with sweaters, with sleeveless blouses, blouses with sleeves short or long, and shirts with or with out patterns. A million different styles to go with the Peter Pan Collar.
J.Crew

I fell in love with the Peter Pan Collar Tee from J.Crew the minute I saw it on their website. I love the gray on white, the sleeve cut, and at the end of the sleeve is a white trim much like the collar. I enjoy seeing the simplicity of the shirt. What I love about simple pieces of clothing is you can either dress it up or dress it down, simple clothes can be very flexible which is fantastic.

I know this was a long blog today, but to close things I want to blog about one more thing...
Today I got my bangs cut to have them across my forehead.  But instead of the school girl heavy bang look, I went for a piece by piece medium-light bang. Think something almost like Taylor Swift across bangs, just not as heavy. One of my greatest obsessions, aside to my fashion obsession, would be my hair obsession. Not going to lie, I love my hair like a pet. I groom it and make sure it has much love. Changing my hair can get a little too emotional for me. I love changing my style, when it comes to changing my hairstyle it takes me awhile to make a decision. And you’re probably thinking, hair grows go for it. That’s exactly what my mom said to me. So I took a chance and made the change. I love my bangs and I do miss my old look, but hair will grow and I would call this hair change a short term change. I can deal with that. At least it’s not an ugly look!

I can't wait for the fall to begin. I will be sharing a lot more for this season and elaborate more on what I posted today. I hope you fashion queens enjoyed this post.

A Passion for Fashion

Hello all ladies, I am the Fashion Empress here to give you tips, ideas, my thoughts, etc. on fashion. I have grown up around fashion my whole life. I am constantly surrounded by great examples of appropriate and fashionable women. My mother being one of them.

I may have been raised with fashion in my life, but before I entered high school fashion wasn't a big deal for me. My mom would dress me in the most adorable clothes until I learned how to put on my clothes like a big girl, that was between elementary school through middle school. During those B.C (before chic) days names like Dior, Prada, and Louis Vuitton were not in my vocabulary. I went through the tom boy phase and then the t-shirt everyday phase. 8th grade, I began to start experimenting in my closet. I didn't want much advice from my mom on what to wear and opening a fashion magazine... well let's just say I didn't have any sitting on my night stand.

The end of the B.C era, I went along with my mom to Saks Fifth Avenue. Every now and then I'd buy something reasonable at Juicy or follow the middle school fads of Abercombie and Hollister. But 9th grade my eyes were opened to the real fashion world. My mom and one of her closest friends, Natalie took me shopping to places that I've been too. This time though, I felt like the familiar places were like new, shiny, pretty places. Bloomingdales. Nordstroms, and my most favorite of all J.Crew, all filled my head with beautiful clothes, accessories, and shoes. The world I was introduced to is beautiful and fun.

Now, just a couple years later I have become a fashion maniac. I have a crazy love for fashion. My mom and I track the best looks and are always looking to see what's coming next.Style is basically apart of who a person is. When you wear something you are presenting yourself to everyone. Everyone has different styles and different personalities. It's fun to experiment with clothes and putting things together.

This brings me to the Fashion Empress.. I am here to share my ideas and advice on fashion. I hope you fashion lovers enjoy.
