The Fashion Empress's Dilemma

If I don't plan the perfect outfit it could take hours until I know what I want to wear. This afternoon I've spent an hour and a half trying to figure out what I want to wear to a high school football game. You're probably thinking... seriously, a football game? So here's my dilemma, I am going to my old school's (because now I am doing an online private school) football game and I have all these outfits and I can't decide what I want to wear. I don't want to arrive in my old spirit wear, the Fashion Empress rarely wears a t-shirt out in public.

I knew exactly what pants I want to wear, black seven pencils rolled up to my ankle and my silver J.Crew sandals.
Here were my choices of tops:
-A white James Perse v-neck
-A hand me down baby blue flowey racer back tank from my cousin
-A magenta v-neck from Victoria Secret Pink
-And a high low tangerine button up tank from H&M

I finally found a winner after trying all 4 choices on over and over. I decided to go with the magenta v-neck from VS Pink. My old school's team colors are gold and purple, so at least I will almost blend in with the magenta. I'm not going to put any jewelry with this outfit or do anything special with my hair. To finish the look off I am going to be carrying my Micheal Kors nude cross body purse.

For things like a football game I like to be super comfortable and stylish at the same time. Being comfortable in what you wear is one of the main keys. I hate wearing things that look cute but you can barely breath, or it's itchy, or you can't move around and sit. And with tonight I will be moving around and sitting and standing the whole time.

One last thing about deciding on what to wear. Confidence. Wear something that gives you confidence. Because when you wear your outfit with confidence, the outfit will look ten times better on you.

It takes time to find the right thing to wear, I know I take my time. And I always think that in a great outfit there must be comfort and confidence!

Falling Forward

Summer fashion was good this year. But I'm ready to beat the heat and dive into the fall season.

Let's start FALLING FORWARD.

I am so excited for fall fashion this year. It’s almost time to break out the boots, the sweaters, stockings and scarves. I have a fall fashion check list that I’d like to share.
Here we go!
-Booties: Wedge boots that cut off at the ankle
-Flats: I really like the triangle pointy toed flats
-Fall fun colored/pattern pants
-Peter Pan Collar

J.Crew

Now I must elaborate on my bootie obsession. I’ve been seeing the wedged ankle boots with cute socks scrunched up to the top of the boot. Back to the high waisted jean shorts, if you do love to wear high waisted jean shorts wedge booties and socks all together is super cute! When it gets colder and you still like the booties and socks don’t be afraid to throw on your cutest pencil pants and have your socks peek out between the booties and pants. But if you don’t prefer the booties sock look, my alternative is pants almost high water pants with cute flats which can be just as cute.

Burgundy is a color that I love for fall. The fun pinkish, redish, orangey pants made their debut all through spring break to the end of summer. Let's put away the bright pastel colors and bring in warm fall colors. Fall colored jeans, pants, and corduroys are what I am looking for this fall. Pattern pants are also a great, they can spice up your outfits.

Last on my check list would be the Peter Pan Collar. I find the Peter Pan Collar adorable. Its a very feminine look. There are all kinds of styles of Peter Pan Collars. They can be with sweaters, with sleeveless blouses, blouses with sleeves short or long, and shirts with or with out patterns. A million different styles to go with the Peter Pan Collar.
J.Crew

I fell in love with the Peter Pan Collar Tee from J.Crew the minute I saw it on their website. I love the gray on white, the sleeve cut, and at the end of the sleeve is a white trim much like the collar. I enjoy seeing the simplicity of the shirt. What I love about simple pieces of clothing is you can either dress it up or dress it down, simple clothes can be very flexible which is fantastic.

I know this was a long blog today, but to close things I want to blog about one more thing...
Today I got my bangs cut to have them across my forehead.  But instead of the school girl heavy bang look, I went for a piece by piece medium-light bang. Think something almost like Taylor Swift across bangs, just not as heavy. One of my greatest obsessions, aside to my fashion obsession, would be my hair obsession. Not going to lie, I love my hair like a pet. I groom it and make sure it has much love. Changing my hair can get a little too emotional for me. I love changing my style, when it comes to changing my hairstyle it takes me awhile to make a decision. And you’re probably thinking, hair grows go for it. That’s exactly what my mom said to me. So I took a chance and made the change. I love my bangs and I do miss my old look, but hair will grow and I would call this hair change a short term change. I can deal with that. At least it’s not an ugly look!

I can't wait for the fall to begin. I will be sharing a lot more for this season and elaborate more on what I posted today. I hope you fashion queens enjoyed this post.

A Passion for Fashion

Hello all ladies, I am the Fashion Empress here to give you tips, ideas, my thoughts, etc. on fashion. I have grown up around fashion my whole life. I am constantly surrounded by great examples of appropriate and fashionable women. My mother being one of them.

I may have been raised with fashion in my life, but before I entered high school fashion wasn't a big deal for me. My mom would dress me in the most adorable clothes until I learned how to put on my clothes like a big girl, that was between elementary school through middle school. During those B.C (before chic) days names like Dior, Prada, and Louis Vuitton were not in my vocabulary. I went through the tom boy phase and then the t-shirt everyday phase. 8th grade, I began to start experimenting in my closet. I didn't want much advice from my mom on what to wear and opening a fashion magazine... well let's just say I didn't have any sitting on my night stand.

The end of the B.C era, I went along with my mom to Saks Fifth Avenue. Every now and then I'd buy something reasonable at Juicy or follow the middle school fads of Abercombie and Hollister. But 9th grade my eyes were opened to the real fashion world. My mom and one of her closest friends, Natalie took me shopping to places that I've been too. This time though, I felt like the familiar places were like new, shiny, pretty places. Bloomingdales. Nordstroms, and my most favorite of all J.Crew, all filled my head with beautiful clothes, accessories, and shoes. The world I was introduced to is beautiful and fun.

Now, just a couple years later I have become a fashion maniac. I have a crazy love for fashion. My mom and I track the best looks and are always looking to see what's coming next.Style is basically apart of who a person is. When you wear something you are presenting yourself to everyone. Everyone has different styles and different personalities. It's fun to experiment with clothes and putting things together.

This brings me to the Fashion Empress.. I am here to share my ideas and advice on fashion. I hope you fashion lovers enjoy.
